L12 - Interview Journal

  1. Who did you interview with and what is their job title?
    - The person who interviews me was the manager of parking in Universal Studio.

  2. What was most useful to you about this experience?
    - The most useful experience I took from the interview was to show confidence.

  3. What was the most difficult question you were asked? Why?
    - The most difficult question I was ask was “Did anything happened to you that did not meet your expectation, and how did you resolve it?” I had a 5 minute silence for a moment to try and think of an experience, or a story that I had done. Even after the long moment of silence, I ask if I can skip the question and come back to it later. After all of the other questions, we had to come back and he asked the question again. I could not of piece anything together to answer the question. So I said I couldn’t answer the question and we moved on. The reason why it was hard for me to answer the question was because I was never ask that question before, and it was kind of hard to think of something at the spar of the moment.

  4. What advice would you give to others preparing for an interview?
    - The advice I would give to others is to come prepared by having asked all the questions that most commonly would be ask by interview, have confidence that you are going to get the position, and try not to get to over intimidated by the person who is interviewing you. The people who are interviewing you are people as well, and they may be over intimidated and nervous as well.

  5. Name at least three (3) things you learned.
    - 1. Be extra patience. I took me over an hour and a half in the waiting room to get my first interview done.
    - 2. Show confidence that you want that position. You need to show that you want it, and that it means something to you.
    - 3. Show up early. Prepare time to find the place, find parking, and fill in a question sheet that they give before the interview.
    - 4. Come dressed up. I saw lots of people coming to the interview in jeans, and t-shirts. Did not look any impressive at all.

  6. Name at least three (3) things that can be improved on for your next interview.
    - 1. Try not to be nervous. Even though this may be hard to do, but the person who is interview is nervous as well. If you show any kind of confidence, the interview will go more smoothly.
    - 2. Dress up. A person, who dresses up, shows them that you mean business, and that you may contribute to their business in a positive manner.
    - 3. When the interview ask, “So why are you here?” Do not answer by saying that you are here for a job. It shows that you are not here for the company and that you are here for yourself. Answer by saying you are here for the company, and you would like to contribute your experience and skills towards the company to solve problems.
