L15 - Final Reflection

Name: Nicholas Seschillie
Final Reflection Paper
CLSS 2100
Date: December 12, 2010

My academic and career plan is to graduate with a bachelor degree in Information Technology and to try to get an entry position in Information Technology in a company in the next several years. I am planning to continue to take general classes and some core classes in the information Technology bachelor degree after this semester. One of my personal challenges is to focus on my English classes for the next several semesters, because I have been avoiding the general English classes for my bachelor degree in the last several semesters.

From taken this course, I am able to take away a lot of experience and apply it to my current life position as a student. I’ve learned so much in this class that I have more confidence for a more stable and a prospect future. Some of the different experiences I have learned from this class are: online Wiki, the value of values, different skills that employers are looking for, my MBTI results, my SII results, identify my weakness, and identify my strengths. This class was able to help me get more information about my current education area and get a broader aspect in my bachelor degree in Information Technology. I was able to contact current Information Technology employees to get more in depth information about what I should be focusing on now while I am in college as a student to ease the transition from student to career. This class was able to help me on writing a well-constructed Resume and cover letter for employer to get recognize more quickly than others. This class was also able to help me to familiarize some of the resources that the Career Services & Student Employment department has to offer. I was also been introduce to another website that has to do with internship at the Internship Services Department. At this website, I was able to research and look up information about more internship that is available around my area. These are some of experience I have learned from taking this class that I have learned and experience to build a foundation for my future my academic and career goals.

Everything I have learned from this course will be a resource, and a new developed skill that I will be able to continue on my academic and career goal to aim to graduate with my degree in Information Technology. With all the resource that is available to me, I will be able to make the transition from student to a career more easily and smoothly and have more confident to build a solid foundation for my future with my academic studies and career goals.
